DeafHear.ie Listening to TV or Radio can be difficult for people with a hearing loss. Even with a hearing aid, problems can be experienced as other sounds are picked up from inside and outside the room. If your family and friends complain that the TV and radio are too loud, or if you have difficulty catching everything that is said on TV you may benefit from using one of the following TV/Radio Listenig Devices.
Infraport 810
The Infraport 810 uses infra-red technology to deliver sound of the highest quality. It is perfect for use with television, radio or hi-fi systems and is supplied with microphone and scart connection for even higher quality sound. The comfortable wireless headset allows the user to move around the room and has a range of up to 12 metres. Using an invisible infrared signal it allows the user to adjust the incoming volume to their required level, without affecting any other people in the room. To recharge the battery simply place the headphones on the transmitter.
Infraport 810s with Neckloop
The Infraport 810s is ideal for TV, radio of hi-fi and provides excellent sound quality for most types of hearing loss. It has a neckloop receiver for people with a "T" switch facility on their hearing aid. Simply pop the neckloop over your head. The transmitter sends the sound directly into your hearing aid and you can adjust the volume control to your required level without affecting any other people in the room. To recharge the battery, simply place in the transmitter.
Freeport 820
The Freeport set allows you to receive high quality sound within a range of 100 metres. You can enjoy T.V. or music from anywhere in the house or even in the garden. You can go to the kitchen during the commercial break and still hear when the film restarts. The position and size of the volume control on the receiver makes it easy to operate. The transmitter also functions as a recharging unit for the battery and provides a safe place for storing the headphones when not in use. Any number of receivers can be used from a single transmitter.
Freeport 820S
The Freeport 820S is especially designed for use with hearing aids. The sound from the TV or radio goes directly into your hearing aid using an induction coupler. Simply pop the neckloop over your head. You can adjust the volume to the required level without affecting anyone else in the room.
RS-45 TV Headphones
The RS-45 is a great idea for those who wear hearings aids, but do not have a ‘T’ switch and would prefer to wear a more traditional style headset to listen wire free around the house. A volume control integrated into the headset allows you to set the volume that you prefer, regardless of how loud the T.V. is. For those who have sensitive ears or get irritation in the ear, the RS-45 is a good solution as it does not go into the ear. Soft ear pads and an adjustable headband make the headphones exceptionally comfortable to wear.
