Community Services

Deaf and hard of hearing people, their families and parents of deaf children encounter many instances where they require specialist information related to hearing loss, rights and entitlements or even support to access other related community services. DeafHear.ie Resource Officers are both knowledgeable and skilled in providing advice and information related to deafness and relevant services.

DeafHear.ie care services include:

  • Children’s & Teenagers Activities
  • Rights and Entitlements Information
  • Accommodation & Employment
  • Mother & Toddler Groups
  • Information on Accessible Services
  • Family Services

In addition, the DeafHear.ie Community provides or co-ordinates:

  • Mobile Resource Unit (as part of outreach services nationally)
  • Irish Sign Language Classes
  • Screening of Hearing
  • Lecture & Information Evenings
  • Deaf and Hearing Awareness Training
  • Residential Courses for Families with Newly Diagnosed Children
  • Newborn Hearing Screening
  • Residential/day summer camps for teenagers and children
