DeafHear.ie | Services : DeafTech

Assistive Technology can benefit deaf and hard of hearing people greatly in their day-to-day lives.

Through Deaftech, our centre for technology for deaf and hard of hearing people, and its national outreach in each DeafHear.ie Resource Centre, information is available on special doorbells, telephones, television adaptors, loop systems and personal communicators - the lack of which can isolate people and erode independence.

Safety equipment such as smoke and other alarms and technology are also available.

To try out and purchase: (Deaftech will supply the required equipment free to those eligible under HSE schemes. Ask the DeafHear.ie Technical Resource Officer for advice).

Deaftech provides a range of helpful factsheets (available in the Archive section of the website and a list of helpful descriptions of assistive technology available). Please click on the items of particular interest.
